Artist Bio

"Art That Heals"

Betsy Randel is a poet and artist working in acrylic and watercolor.


She calls her work, which is inspired by her passion for nature’s beauty, "Art That Heals."


Betsy holds a B.A. from M.U.M., Fairfield, Iowa, U.S.A. in Interdisciplinary Studies and a CFA from Emily Carr University of Art and Design, Vancouver, B.C. She has also studied with well-known painters such as Chris Charlebois and Susan Pearson.


Her art has been featured in numerous Canadian art shows such as Pots and Paints, Midsummer Night's Arts Dream, Guess Who? Art Show, Steveston Cannery Richmond Scenes Group Show, and the Richmond Arts Centre Group Show. Her work has also been displayed in venues and businesses in Canada such as Rocanini Café, Twirly Tree Store and Gallery, Richmond Cultural Centre, Steveston Hub, and Steveston Museum & Post Office.


She resides on the coast of B.C. Canada and has traveled to and is inspired by Indonesia, the Hawaiian Islands, and the B.C. Gulf Islands.
